Purpose, Beliefs, and the Journey Ahead

Everyone needs something to believe in, whether it is a cause, some kind of god , or their own motto of how they choose to live their life. A belief that this is not all for nothing, that everyday does in fact count, and that we were put on this planet for a purpose. Our journey is either not identified yet or in the process of being written.

The optimists of our world choose to believe in the greater good, and they are not yet discouraged, even when society consistently fails us, they still have hope that one day things will turn for the better. Although, the realists out weigh the optimists of our world.

Realists are the ones who are constantly giving the dreamers reality checks, and they do not believe that dreams come true, instead they put up this persona that life happens, and we have to choose how we roll with it or not.

Our world consists of people who rarely dream of something greater, magical, and almost surreal. Yes, everyone has dreams, but who really tries to make those dreams a reality. The ones who turn their dreams into their reality are the ones who believe in something that is bigger than themselves. Those who think that anything is possible, and that life is not yet discouraged by us.

Some believe that everything happens for a reason, and that the events that take place in our life are meant to help create us into the person we are today, and are meant to be. Then, there are some who think that life is not fair..And to short..Those are the ones who decide to dwell on the past, and all the heartache and disappointment of life, instead of use that to become a stronger human being, and face their fears that they believe that life has nothing good in store for them. That is simply untrue. The best is yet to come. Sometimes you have to endure the hardships that reality and life has to throw your way, to come to the realization that every chance is an opportunity for greatness, and every hope is a belief that we can be whomever we imagine, and that second chances do exist for those lucky enough to accept the opportunity to start over. “Because sometimes you have to step outside of the person you’ve been, and remember the person you where meant to be, the person you wanted to be, the person you are.”(One Tree Hill)

Believe.. Believe that you have a purpose, a journey, and that not matter what spins your life takes, no one can change the way you choose be not ordinary but extraordinary.

“Believe that dreams come true everyday, because they do.”(One Tree Hill)

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
