If you clicked on this article, you either agree with me, or you think I'm crazy.

Personally, I do NOT understand the pumpkin spice craze. Because October is finally here, there are so many more things to be excited about than a flavor of coffee creamer. You could go to a haunted house, go pick some apples, you could even just carve a pumpkin. However, as I stroll the aisles of my local Publix, my eyes are constantly drawn to orange-colored boxes, promoting their pumpkin spice flavor.

There are plenty of foods that are well-off on their own, and pumpkin spice is simply ruining them.

1. Pumpkin spice is ruining my breakfast

Imagine waking up in the morning, and you're just really in the mood for a nice, fluffy, PLAIN waffle. Then, imagine taking a bite into it, and it's pumpkin flavored. No, just no. Take your pumpkin flavors somewhere else, but pumpkin spice is not about to ruin one of my favorite breakfast meals. There are also plenty of cereals I walk by that are pumpkin spiced flavor for fall.

2. Pumpkin spice is ruining my drinks

I'm not sure how pumpkin flavored coffee is supposed to wake you up in the morning. A pumpkin pie flavored coffee creamer is way too sweet and potent for those early mornings. Pumpkin spice is also appearing in cocktails, and I even saw and advertisement for pumpkin pie juice! If I really wanted a little fall treat, I would much rather sip on some apple cider. Apple flavored is so much better than pumpkin flavored (change my mind).

3. Pumpkin spice is ruining my...pasta??

I never ever thought that I would see this, but it's real. Instead, of going for the classic tomato or Alfredo sauce toppings for your pasta, people just took it to a whole new level. Pumpkin flavored pasta sauce. If anything, pumpkin should not be included in any of your main meals. If you want to have a pumpkin baked goods for a little treat or dessert, I am 100% okay with your decision. However, incorporating it with pasta is not okay at all.

4. Pumpkin spice is ruining my favorite candies

Why can't our society just stick with pumpkin pie? Or pumpkin muffins? Instead, companies are actually ruining some of the best candies in the world. When I want some m&m's, I'm going for the regular milk chocolate or the peanut flavored. Never will you ever see me walking out of Publix with pumpkin spiced candy in my bag. Please, if anything, don't mess with the candy.

While you may not agree with my pumpkin spice ideals, you probably can agree that pumpkin spice takes over grocery stores around this time of year. All I want to do is walk into a store, grab my favorite foods, and be on with my day. Instead, I have to deal with pumpkin flavors everywhere.

I may not like pumpkin spice, but come Christmas time, don't try to fight me about peppermint-flavored items. I can't wait for those to come out on the shelves!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
