3 Reasons Publix Is The Number One Supermarket Chain And Number One In My Heart

If you live in the southeast region (mostly Florida), you've probably heard of the greatest supermarket known to the human race (of Florida), Publix. With endless smiles, occasional free samples, and always conveniently located, Publix's slogan is an understatement; shopping at Publix is more than a pleasure, it's a privilege. Publix is a leading supermarket chain most popular to those who live in the Florida/Georgia/Alabama area. I, myself, get very excited when I get the opportunity go to Publix. Publix is like that one friend you can always depend on when you're in need (of food). Never heard of Publix? Get ready to have your mind blown.

1. The Subs!

Oh, the subs. If you've been to Publix and haven't tried a (cleverly named) "Pub-Sub," please drop whatever you're doing and rush to Publix at this very moment. Publix Subs are far more superior to Subway Subs (Subway? I don't know her). The bread, freshly baked everyday, is absolutely the lightest and fluffiest I've had. The different cold cut combinations you can get is practically endless. Their variety of cheeses and toppings almost brings tears to my eyes. I say Pub-Subs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner please!

2. The employees.

You know a store is good when the entire staff is reputable. Let me ask, what other grocery stores will help take your groceries to your car for you? With a smile? Can't think of one? I've been in many different grocery stores and Publix was the only one who provided such a service. Not only that, every single employee at Publix, whether younger or older, seems genuinely happy to work there, making the entire experience that much more enjoyable. Happy employees lead to good service which leads to happy customers which leads to a prospering, thriving business!

3. The atmosphere.

Listen, people generally dislike grocery shopping. It's a chore, it's time-consuming, it's boring, I get it. But, when you're at Publix, you feel a bright and fresh feeling in the air. Going to Publix is always a good time. The many different departments make such a small store feel like an entire shopping mall. Need two pounds of sliced provolone cheese? (First of all, why)? Visit the deli! Don't feel like cooking? Grab a meal at the prepared food kiosk. Publix isn't just a grocery store, it's the grocery store.

Some Honorary Mentions include the hot food case, the bakery, the salad bar, and the cleanliness of the store.

Publix will always have my heart, there is no other grocery chain that can make me feel this certain way that Publix can. If you don't have Publix near you, sorry, you lose (probably move to Florida or something) and if you have a Publix around you, cherish it, with every ounce of your being... she deserves it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
