Every year stores start putting up their Holiday decorations earlier and earlier. As soon as Halloween is over the stores have all their Christmas decorations and the ads for Holiday shopping. But here's the thing...
Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet.
It's way too early for Christmas and it's definitely too early to start listening to Christmas songs (unless it's from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" because technically it's set between the two Holidays). But I personally am sick of listening to "All I Want For Christmas Is You" playing every day from November 1st till December 25th. That is way too long.
If Halloween gets a month of celebration, Christmas should get the same or at least wait until Thanksgiving is over.
Besides, Thanksgiving is the holiday where you just get to eat a lot of food and have a whole weekend to recover. I mean how great is that! And if you go to college, you get a nice relaxing break before your finals start. It's a good holiday in its own right, so don't ignore it just to skip ahead to Christmas.
It's not Christmas time, it's Thanksgiving time.
It's a time to give thanks and spend time with your family. It's time for the Thanksgiving Day Parade and pie. It's time for turkey and cornbread. But really Thanksgiving is probably there to break up Halloween and Christmas so that Christmas time isn't almost two months.
I know I might sound like a Grinch, but please wait until after Thanksgiving before you start blasting your Christmas music and putting up your decorations. There is such a thing as it being too early to listen to Christmas music and before Thanksgiving and especially before Halloween is that time.
