You've heard it.
"Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang"
It's literally the entire song. There is no purpose and there is no talent. Lil Pump is trash. Migos are trash. Yachty is trash. Lil' whatever is trash. Why? Because it's, "a bunch of words and ain't saying shit" – J.Cole x Everybody Dies
Progressive hip-hop has gone down the drain – lyrics are no longer the the focus like much like Eminem, Nas, Jay-Z, and Biggie were. "Artists" and record labels and ESPECIALLY the producers are after the bread, and these days want something that bangs in the club or on the radio aka they want money with zero talent or effort used. It's pathetic and the worst part about it is, people find that this music is "lit."
The only way that it could be lit is if it's literally lit on fire because it's total garbage.
Illmatic x Nas will easily show you how important lyrics were back in '94. Any of Biggie's albums will show you how important style is in hip-hop, and how powerful it is. Jay-Z's instrumentals will prove to you how intricate producers used to be. Eminem was basically Nas' inspiration and essentially his student. Don't even make me mention Dr. Dre and Snoop Dawg's collab album called "The Chronic."
The quality is superb. Hip-Hop groups like NWA and A Tribe Called Quest used to be the most popular. East Coast/West Coast hip-hop beef was REAL. Freestyles which required actual TALENT were the definition of hype. I miss it, and anyone that has a real taste for hip-hop misses it as well.
The standard for quality of music is virtually non-existent and anyone that finds it to be of high quality and lives up to the idea of music is patently *wrong* and I'm not making any apologies for that statement.
