I Am A Princess, Not Because I Have A Prince, But Because I'm The Daughter Of The King

My worth is not dependent on your opinion of me, my worth has already been determined by God.

In this world that incessantly brings you down, whether it be by friends disappointing you or boys not only persistently but stubbornly letting you down, there is only one person we can rely on to define us and show us our worth. If we rely on the flawed beings that surround us to define our worth, it will lead to a path of destruction and depression, making you feel worthless, insignificant, and valueless -- everything that God doesn’t want you to feel.

We must proceed through life with confidence because if God sees us as His princess, we must act like a princess and have the highest standards.

We must never settle for any type of treatment that makes us feel like anything other than a princess.

We know our worth because God already determined it when He told us that we are his children, “So in Christ Jesus, you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” (Galatians 3:26) We never have to worry if we are good enough for the treatment of a princess because we are counted righteous in God. We have not become righteous by our own merit but only by believing in God have we become worthy of this treatment.

Consequently, because God is the “King of Kings, Lord of Lords” (Revelation 19:16), we are His princesses, “Therefore you are no longer a servant, but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ!” (Galatians 4:7)

Even as flawed and sinful parents protect their children to the best of their ability, God, as the perfect Father, will never let us down, unfailingly defending and shielding us from the enemy, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalms 46:1). Furthermore, God called us under His care when He claimed us as our children, promising us that He will never leave us, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Because of this, we can live as children of the true King, proceeding through life with confidence that is confirmed by God himself.

If we are princesses of God, the “King of Kings, Lord of Lords”, we deserve to be treated with the utmost respect. We deserve to be valued, appreciated, and treasured because God values, appreciates, and treasures us. And if God, in all of his glory and power and importance, can do these things for us, this is what we deserve from the men on this earth. “And the Lord has declared this day that you are his people, His treasured possession as He promised and that you are to keep all his commands.” (Deuteronomy 26:18)

God even goes before us, defeating our enemies, “For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you, and to defeat your enemies before you.” Because we are children of God, we are safe. Our Father watches over us and knows every need, defeated death, and promises to protect us.

Therefore, do not settle. Carry your heads high. Fight for your worth because we must see our own worth before anyone will be able to. Once we ourselves believe that we are valuable, everyone else around will see it too.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
