An entanglement of thoughts
spilling carelessly from cruel mouths,
seeping into the minds of the naive,
sprouting trees with leaves of ferocity.
A flow of passion, unbiased love
forming imperative conversation,
facing steadfast opposition,
fascinating millions taking a stand.
An empty mouth, a silent void
rebelling the ongoing revolution,
refusing to fight for justice,
remaining in the shadows.
In this wicked world, we face a choice:
be the ignorant babbling fool, or
battle the institutionalized injustices, or
back away entirely, leaving others to fight.
Yet we are given a voice, one for change:
learning from the wisdom of others,
lifting up spirits across the universe,
leading the essential rebellion.
Why should we let this gift waste away,
rotting into dirty flesh and broken words,
retreating to the corner reserved for the lost,
resorting instead to the painful silence?
We must use our voice with great power,
transforming the world one letter at a time,
training future generations to use their gift,
terminating the racist beast which remains before us.
