In life, I chose not to take the paths that were more or less traveled.
Instead, I chose my own path,
Filled with unexpected grievances and delights
Of which I did not know could exist.
As weeks, months, even years spiraled past,
I walked further and further down my path.
I exuded a sense of determination that continuously reminded me that I must not turn back.
At one time I walked,
And then I stumbled,
Then I crawled.
In the moments I thought that I could travel no further,
My immediate instinct was to turn back and take a different path -
The path of another.
I strove to start over,
To keep my past so tightly bound within the depths of nonexistent privacy,
To begin again,
As I stood in fear of the unknown.
As weeks, months, even years spiraled past,
I was oblivious to the notion that was ever so present,
Standing dominantly in front of me as I walked down my path.
You see,
To begin again,
To transform the mind, body and spirit
Is not solely reliant on that of taking another's path.
What the world neglects to remind us of is that each and every one of us can begin again
Without abandoning the pathways we have paved for ourselves.
From those standing in the depths of the valleys,
To those who stand triumphantly upon the highest mountain tops,
You can begin again.
From the saints that graze the earth with their beautiful presence,
To the sinners who scrutinize and destroy the simple pleasures of life,
You can begin again.
From those in which success pulses through their veins,
To those who call the word "defeat" their friend,
You, too, can begin again.

Regardless of the path you take,
Regardless of what life brings your way,
You do not have to fear.
You do not have to abandon all progress in the hopes of starting over.
It is never too late to begin again.
