0. Zero reasons she wants to stay.

1. One difficult decision is made.

2. Too many pills, but she lays them on her nightstand anyways.

3. Three deep breaths.

4. Four drinks of water before they’re all washed down.

5. Five in the morning and she knows she won’t see another 5 AM.

6. Six pictures on the wall, her and her friends, last summer.

7. Seven minutes later, not even, she’s already regretting it.

8. Eight hundred something, what’s the crisis hotline again?

9. Nine different fingers shoved down her throat, trying to get the pills back up.

10. Ten cautious steps to her parent’s bedroom, she has to get help.

9. Nine siren wails before she is strapped into the ambulance.

8. Eight doctors surrounding her bed, poking and prodding.

7. Seven different questions she’s asked by a therapist.

6. Six friends come and visit, they had no idea she was struggling so badly.

5. Five A.M., she can’t sleep but at least she’s seen another five in the morning.

4. Four days later, she gets to go home.

3. Three times a week, she sees a counselor.

2. Two loving parents, who are now aware.

1. One life. It’s all you get.

0. Zero reasons she wants to leave.

When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
