Are You A Plastic Bag Hoarder?

Like most people, my family and I are guilty of hoarding plastic bags! Our way of saving plastic bags is cramming a whole bunch of smaller plastic bags into a larger bag. The result is often messy and the bags often seem to be spilling out of the larger bag! So, my mom got this creative idea to store the bags in a way that reduces clutter and saves space! The end result will be a plastic bag reduced to small triangle! I hope this idea help some of you so that we can continue to save plastic bags!

Step #1 Get a plastic bag!

Any plastic bag will work for this idea- it does not matter if it is big or small! Be sure to check the bag for any small tears or holes! Once, you have a plastic bag, be sure to lay it out flat. Be sure to have the sides of the bag tucked in so that the sides are straight. I’ve attached a picture below so that you have an idea of what it should look like!

Step #2: Fold the bag in half.

Once you have the bag laid flat, take one end and fold the bag in half. Make sure the bag is lined up closely. I have attached a photo below!

Step #3: Fold the bag in half...again.

Once you have this done, you will fold the bag again, but only to the middle of the bag. Again, I have a picture below to demonstrate this step.

Then, you will take that part and fold it again to the edge of the bag. It should look like a thin rectangle strip of the plastic bag with the bag handles positioned at the top. Make sure everything is as lined up as possible -- this will make it easier for the next step! I have included a picture below to show this step.

Step #4: Begin to fold in triangles!

Start at the bottom of the bag with the square base; make sure the bag handles are at the top. Fold the corner- it doesn’t matter which corner- upwards so that it lines up against the edge of the bag in a triangle shape. You will then fold this triangle to the opposite side of the bag so that it lines up against the bag’s edge. Now, repeat this step until you get close to the handles of the plastic bag! Don’t be too worried if the triangle seems to not be lining up perfectly against the bag’s edge -- that’s OK! I have included a picture of this step below.

Step #5: Tuck handles into triangle!

Once you have folded the bag into a triangle up until the handles, you should notice that the triangle has a small little flap. You will then take the plastic handles and tuck them into this little nook. Then, you’re done!

The end result should look like this!

This is a nifty tip for anyone that has way too many plastic bags lying around the house! It definitely saves space and is small enough so that you can throw a few into your car or purse the next time you’re out shopping! It is always helpful to reuse plastic so that they do not end up in the ocean or alongside our freeways! Thank you so much for reading and I hope my tip helped some of you!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
