Throughout the College of Charleston, there are many places to study that people are unaware of. Sometimes going to the library gets old, you get sick of sitting in the same little cubical. Or maybe you just don't feel like running into people you know. There are so many places throughout the college that people dont know about or dont know how to take advantage or so here is a list of my 8 favorite places to study.

1. Rent a Study Room in the Library

Many people go to Addlestone library to study. But what most people don't utilize is the use of the study rooms. They give you a quiet place where you can work alone, or you can do a group project and not have to worry about being loud in the library.

2. The Presidents House Backyard

On Glebe Street, lies the beautiful house of the president himself, Glen McConnell. The house has a wonderful backyard that can be accessed through both Saint Phillip street and glebe street. On a hot day, it's nice to do homework back there because it is fully shaded by trees.

3. Education Center

Everyone knows where the education center is, but I bet you didn't know it is opened all night. It's a great place to sit down and do your studies. At night when it is dark in there, it helps you to concentrate and really get all the knowledge.

4. Common room of your dorm

One thing I'm going to miss most about living in a dorm is the common room. The common room in McAllister or any other dorm is a great place to study in mainly because no one knows it exists. Whenever people study they always go to the library or their room. I'm the type of person who likes to study in a room all by myself, and if you are like that too the common room is a quiet, convenient place.

5. Marion Square

If it's a beautiful day and you have a load of papers you need to get done and don't want to be stuck in the library all day, Marion Square is the place to go. Just keep in mind there is no wifi so make sure you are doing work on Microsoft or old fashion paper. I also don't recommend studying for a test there because it can get very noisy and distracting.

6. Francis Marion Lobby

One of the most beautiful places you can study in Charleston is in the Lobby of the Francis Marion. Just enter through the entrance on Calhoun street and you will be in awe. When I study there I feel pressured to get all the knowledge because of all the intelligent business people who walk in and out.

7. Jewish Study Center

The Jewish Studies center is on the corner of Glebe and Wentworth. It's a pretty boring building with barely anything in it until you learn there's a suite filled with snacks and drinks for you to enjoy while you study.

8. Student activities outdoor seating

Lastly, if you want to do a mixture of getting some sun, people watching and studying. The outdoor seating outside of the student activities building, also out the back of Berry Resident Hall and McAllister Resident Hall, is a great place to do just that.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
