I don't know about anyone else, but my favorite thing about fall is Halloween, and with Halloween comes scary movies. Now, I can watch horror movies at any point in the year, but there's just something about watching them in the fall that makes it 1000 times better. While Netflix does have a pretty weak selection where horror movies are concerned, I did manage to find five that are solid 10/10s, or at least 8/10s.

1. "Friend Request"

At first glance, this movie seems like a repeat of "Unfriended," a horror movie that came out in 2015 that most people have probably never cared to watch....with good reason. However, it's nothing like that movie, not even in the slightest. It has a lot of the cliché horror movie moments, like the girl following a strange noise even though her first instinct should have been to run or each character dying off, one by one. However, its unique, mystifying plot and connection to the modern day technological craze overshadow those factors. Not to mention, it has a plot twist ending that'll leave you breathless.

2. "Hush"

This movie has basically two characters in it, but yet is the most well-thought out and intricate horror movie's I've ever seen. One character is deaf, while the other one is gunning to kill her. It makes for a recipe of disaster and will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. There are quite a few moments that make you jump out of your seat and just scream "He's right behind you!" Except she definitely won't hear you.

3. "Oculus"

If you're looking for a movie to scare you and confuse you, this is the movie for you. Based on a cursed mirror that makes you see things that aren't really there, it keeps you questioning throughout the entire movie of what's real and what's not. Even the ending leaves you confused and unsure. It's a brain twister, for sure. (Bonus: if you are a huge "One Tree Hill" fan like I am, James Lafferty a.k.a. Nathan Scott is in this movie. That right there makes it all worth it.)

4. "It Follows"

I may be partial to this movie because it was filmed in Detroit and I love when things are filmed locally, however, the premises of the movie, which is basically some haunted curse taking the form of an STD, are incredibly unique. It's also one of those movies where you want to stop watching, but then at the same time, you can't look away.

5. "The Conjuring"

At this point, this movie is a classic. You can just never go wrong watching it, no matter how many times you've watched it. It's just one of those movies that never gets old. From the plot line to the jump scares, to the "based on a true story," it's chill-inducing and easily one of the best horror movies out there

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
