Peaks Coffee Company: A New 'Must Try' In Syracuse
Arianna Saxton

As someone who easily gets bored from a routine, and tends to get stir crazy from being boxed into my tiny dorm, I am constantly looking for new places off campus to explore. Whether it be various parks throughout Syracuse, restaurants in Armory Square or different cafes scattered throughout the city, I am always looking for a new setting to relax and escape from my routine as a student. As much as I enjoy Starbucks and the convenience of it being near my dorm, I would much rather support the local business community and encourage potential new businesses.

I came across Peak's Coffee Company on Instagram and was really excited to see something new in Syracuse that is appealing and easily accessible to a college campus, as it is a few minutes walk from Greek row. I was attracted to the beautiful photos of fresh baked macarons and pastries from another local Syracuse business, other items from their menu to satisfy any craving, and intricate swirls in the coffee foam (insta worthy for sure).

A friend and I went and after trying different items from the menu, we decided that this will definitely be our new "go to" spot for a snack, a delicious hot beverage, and a quick break from our lives on campus. Both impressed with our order, we look forward to our next trip and opportunity to try more items from their menu while doing homework or just chatting in their relaxing atmosphere.

No Uber is necessary which is amazing, and you can either enjoy your beverage in a coffee mug and relax on the couches, or grab it in a to-go cup before class. Skip Starbucks, and try a new local shop that I guarantee will become your new favorite! You can find Peaks Coffee Co. at 1200 E. Genesee St., Syracuse, NY.

Although seemingly simple to make, this was the most creative and delicious avocado toast I have ever tried! I would truly recommend this to anyone. There are many other items on the menu to satisfy any taste palette, I look forward to trying more.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
