I'll admit, I'm fairly new to the nail game. There are so many designs and colors to choose from, and it can be a very tedious, very expensive thing to keep up with. As someone who is always chipping her nail polish or breaking her nails, I decided to try my hand (literally) at acrylic nails. I had heard a lot of positive things about them, how they are durable and look amazing for up to a month before you have to get them filled. Taking the risk, I nervously walked into the nail salon and braced myself for what was to come. I opted for a coffin shape and a maroon color for my first experiment, and the results were honestly shocking.

1. First of all, wow, my nails look amazing.

I say this every time I get them done, but these nails were honestly STUNNING. It was the first time I actually liked the way my nails looked.

2. The shape is everything I'd dreamed of.

Coffin 4 life. (And it's also recommended by manicurists because its the most durable shape!)

3. I could probably kill a man with these daggers if I wanted to

And that thought has crossed my mind a lot, TBH.

4. My boyfriend is going to ask me to scratch his back forever now

A blessing and a curse.

5. Wait, how do I type on my phone now?

Alright, just gotta take it a little slower...turn on autocorrect....abuse the hell out of the backspace button...

6. Bloody hell, how do I TYPE with these things?!

At least my hands look good while I try to keep up with these lecture notes.

7. How do people write with pens and pencils with these things?!

Doing anything revolving my hands is becoming just a little bit tedious.

8. Hey, a whole week has passed and I haven't chipped or broken a nail yet!

This may all be worth it....

9. OK, I'm totally rocking this

I've had my ups and downs, and I text a lot slower, but it's all worth it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
