To the girl who made racist comments about POC,
What were you thinking? Did you have any idea that someone was going to see your videos and become outraged by the things you were saying?
Your behavior was extremely inappropriate and inexcusable. You had no right to make those comments and to laugh it off was just cruel.
To use being a former University of Alabama student and a New Jersey native as an excuse to use the n-word is a poor display of character. That word is very offensive to black people and their culture.
I hope you realize that not all Southerners are racist and that most of them aren't. In fact, they're probably offended that you think that about them. Joking or not, what you said was horrible.
To make matters worse, you gave a false representation of our hometown and state. Most of us have the utmost respect for people of all kinds. We judge based on intellect, not skin tone.
We're not prejudiced against blacks either; in fact, we embrace them as one of us. Our community is very welcoming and we condemn this kind of behavior.
Race is a sensitive subject and not a laughing matter. Sure there are stereotypes about different regions, but they're not all true. Heck, the Jersey shore isn't defined by the MTV reality show!
Please actually realize that you made a big mistake and please do not let it happen again. I know you apologized, but I honestly don't believe it was sincere. You really need to internalize your words and the reactions from others. Most people, including myself, are mortified that you would purposefully say those things on
I understand that everyone messes up sometimes, some more extreme than others. I really hope you turn your life around and figure it out someday soon.
Sincerely,
A dignified neighbor
