With Halloween around the corner, I feel as though its fitting and appropriate to send some costume inspo your way. Modeled by yours truly, I have put together a timeline of every Halloween costume I have sported through the years, some of which still haunt me today and are more terrifying than any "Scream" or Freddy Krueger costume.

1. Started with the classics

Because for some reason parents love to see their chubby children dressed as insects. Real original, mom.

2. An icon

Honestly, this costume is really cute. I have no complaints because Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz" is iconic.

3. Every Disney princess ever

Another toddler classic. One can appreciate the outstanding confidence I had at this age. Bonus points to me for being bold and experimenting with wigs.

4. Taking the scary approach

A very modest devil indeed. Ladies, take notes.

5. Another icon

Yes, I had a very serious and kind of concerning Hannah Montana phase/obsession.

6. Channeling my inner diva

I was a theatre girl, so naturally I had to dress as a Pink Lady from "Grease."

7. Move over, Miss America

No words.

8. So much cringe

A questionable costume choice indeed. This looks like one of those adult baby fetishes, and I'm not proud.

9. Peace. Love. I needed braces.

You know, I bought this entire get up in one of those costume sets from the Halloween store.

10. A basic 8th grader

Bright red lipstick, braces, unnecessarily dark eyeshadow, and an Android phone. Not sure what's scarier, me or the pumpkin.

11. Freshman year = no cares

I sported a Blackhawks shirt and went as a "Hawks girl" because, you know, sportz.

12. It wasn't even the 4th of July

Ah, yes. My friends and I dressed as "USA girls" because we were unoriginal sophomores and had to put something together last minute. Fun fact: I got dress-coded for wearing this because the shirt was see-through, and it showed off my American flag bralette. Sorry but that was the whole point, Mrs. Advisor-Chair.

13. Minion by day...

I learned my lesson from sophomore year on "appropriateness" for dressing up at school.

14. ...Cadet Kelly by night

Going all out for house party with 20 people in a basement is Halloween in high school in a nutshell.

15. Friday Night Lights

I managed to still fit into my cheerleading uniform from 3rd grade and turned it into a mediocre costume.

16. A college student on a budget

And last but not least, my most recent attempt at Halloween. Not much to say other than I was a freshman in college and had to put something together last minute. A for effort though.

Now that you've been blessed with seeing every Halloween costume I've ever worn, you can continue on with your last minute costume shopping. Hopefully, my costume choices sparked some inspiration or triggered you enough to never want to repeat any of them. Either way, happy Halloween, and please refrain from the clown costumes, it's not 2016 anymore.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
