As September draws to a close, I find myself in eager anticipation of my very favorite month: October. This time of year when it begins getting colder and the leaves start changing is the most exciting of all.
The scent of pumpkin candles fill the air and cheesy Halloween movies are constantly playing on TV. In October everything slows down from the chaos of the start of the school year and you can finally just breathe.
Breathe in that cool, refreshing Autumn air, feel the fallen leaves crunch beneath your shoes, and enjoy the best season of all.
1. The weather.
October weather. It’s no longer uncomfortably warm, but not yet terribly cold. The crispness of the October air is perfect. You can smell the scent of Autumn in every cool breeze that blows by
2. The clothes.
Fall clothes are the best. Cozy sweaters, soft flannel, warm hats and scarves, jeans, and boots. There’s nothing like pulling on your favorite sweater on a chilly Autumn morning before stepping outside to start your day.
3. The drinks.
Cliche, I know, but who doesn’t love a good pumpkin spice latte? Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider, ect. Going to the coffee shop and getting that long-awaited hot drink and holding the paper cup, letting it warm your hands, is a magical feeling that only fall can bring.
4. The decorations.
Fall decorations never fail to make me happy. Whether it be a house decked out in Halloween decor with inflatable witches and skeletons, or just a few simple gourds and mums, Autumn decorations always put a smile on my face.
5. Halloween.
Halloween is one of the best days of the year. It is the pinnacle of the season. The fun is endless. You get to pick and/or make your costume. You get to carve pumpkins. And whether you’re trick-or-treating (free candy, score) or handing out candy (all those adorable little kids), who doesn’t love it?
