Dear Political Leaders,

What are you doing?

What is the whole point behind what you are doing? This question goes to both Democrats and Republicans. What is your purpose for being in that office? The way everyone seems to be acting in Washington D.C. and across this, once great, nation has made me come to the realization that no one knows their purpose in office. The purpose of the elected official is to represent the district, state, or country in which the constituents reside, not for the purpose of gaining fame or power. Quit exploiting OUR system for YOUR benefit. Those benefits that you get, we pay for out of taxes we pay. Your salary, WE PAY with taxes that we are FORCED to pay. This is not a bash against taxes, there are good uses for taxes like running emergency services, public transportation, supplying schools with what they need. Not for you to have a third lake house. Again, not bashing success, but it is bad when done at other peoples expense.

Quit Beating Around the Bush

I see politicians talk all the time. That's it. They talk all the time, but what are they really saying? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I remember seeing the Republican Debates on TV back in 2016 and whenever they would be asked a question, usually, the first two words to come out of their mouth is "I think." Which there's nothing wrong with thinking, but thinking alone doesn't bring change. Think when you have alone time, think when you have to on-the-spot, but when it comes to the nation, DO. Don't say "I think" because I want to know what you WILL DO about the topic. Quit feeding me what someone told you to say and go with what you know is right to DO. Most politicians say they want change, but don't just talk about it; be about it.

Your "Love-Hate" Relationship with the Media

The media can be attributed to dividing the country, sure, but when it comes to how you respond to what the media says is entirely on you. You can't blame the media when you indulge is divisive desire. Instead of indulging, resist. You can choose to mend instead of rip. When the media asks you a question intentionally to cause a rip in the audience, talk about their intentions, POINT THEM OUT. Don't sit back quietly and take what they're dishing out to you because in the end it will make you look like a jerk/ incompetent puppet and make us (your constituents) upset, when you could help unify us to take down the dividing forces in this country.

What Are You Waiting For?

Take action! Quit sitting around waiting on someone else to fix the country's problems, when you can make a step at the higher levels of government in something I call "trickle-down morality." Thank you President Reagan. If the country sees you guys doing what you should do then the rest will mostly follow. Quit being the counterexample. Do what is right. Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green Party, Dem. Socialist alike, help build America not destroy it as you have been doing.

DISCLAIMER: To the politicians doing their job, thank you. This article is not for you. This article is for the ones who use their office like Chancellor Palpatine used his office in Star Wars, to control and abuse people, not to help them.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
