6 Towns in New York to Visit for the Day by Car

Since COVID is still yet to leave our lives, people can't do certain things like go to the movies, the museums anymore. So many of us should take the chance to go places where there aren't that many people and explore.

While in these places or traveling in general, please remain safe; maintain social distancing requirements, try to avoid staying inside places for long periods of time, and most importantly, wash your hands when you go outside.

1. Owego:

This is a cute little town about 20-30 minutes from Binghamton NY. My boyfriend and I have gone there just recently to look at the antique stores. It is getting a little colder now, so try to go now before it gets colder.

2. Ithaca:

Even though it's getting colder outside, there is still a chance to catch the changing leaves. Also, Ithaca is a nice town that is right next to Cornell University.

3. Roosevelt Island:

I have gone many times to Roosevelt Island when I am at home. It is beautiful during the summer and it is still nice even in the winter. One of my good friends from high school also lives there which is mainly why I go there.

5. Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow:

When I was younger, I used to go with my family to Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow in October and it was beautiful. All the trees changing color and also the spooky atmosphere when you get into Sleepy Hollow (or at least I liked to pretend it was) is a great place to go especially now in the fall.

6. Corning:

This is another place that is more upstate but also a cute town. However, this place is best known for glass making. I went here when I was a kid and it was amazing. I am not sure if you can still see glass making, however, the town has plenty of shops and is right near a harbor.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
