What Are My New Year's Resolutions?

It's that time of year: Christmas is over and the New Year is here. That means it's time for me to make my list of new year's resolutions. This year, I had no trouble figuring out what I wanted to put on the list. Recently, random things have just been popping in my head so when it came time to make my list, I had no problems. So, get ready. This is about to get serious.

1) Get into a fitness routine

When I was in high school, I was on the swim team so I worked out 3 hours a day, every day, for 6 months straight. Then I would be off-season and I would lose all my muscle but it was no big deal because I knew I'd gain it all back when swim season started up again. However, now that I am in college, I don't have that perk. I don't have any swim season coming up so it is time I establish a workout routine so I can get back into shape and stay in shape. This is my number one resolution because if I do this, I will overall be so much more healthy and that is always good! I have already started to work out regularly so hopefully that continues throughout 2019.

2) Get good grades/study hard

My first year of college didn't go as well as I could've so this year, I need to make up for it. I am not saying I got horrible grades but I didn't do as well as I know I could have. This means that this year, I need to work harder than ever in order to get the 4.0 that I am shooting for (even a 3.5 would be good with me). I am going to have to establish a schedule or routine so I make sure I get this done.

3) Get an Internship

This resolution is my favorite. Why you might ask? Because I already got it done. I have an internship for next semester and I could not be more thrilled. This will be the first of many but honestly, this one is going to be amazing. It's great experience, close to school, counts as college credit, and is paid. This resolution is complete!

4) Meet new people

I love my friends more than anything, but this year, I want to branch out and meet new people. Now, I'm not saying I want to replace anyone I am currently friends with, but I'd like to expand my horizons. Making new friends is always a good thing and it has been a while since I've truly met new people so this is the year for it.

Well, that's all I got. Those are the four main resolutions I have. Of course, I have some smaller and less important ones but I didn't feel the need to mention it. Thanks for reading and I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and happy New Year!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
