New Year's Day is fast approaching, and weather forecasts predict a cold ball drop. You may have noticed that the temperature recently appeared to be colder than at the same time years past. According to the Washington Post, the temperature has been "some 15 to 30 degrees lower than normal and will grip much of the eastern two-thirds of the nation up to seven to 10 more days."
Additionally, the coldest weather (relative to average) will be directly above the United States and Canada during this upcoming week. Erie, Pennsylvania has already endured a white Christmas, the city has already seen 60 inches of snow.
So as you head off to your New Years festivities, be sure to check up on the elderly and stay warm!
