People go to New York to see the countdown on New Year’s Eve. On that day, it is very cold outside because that day is a winter day. Everyone has to wear warm clothing that day. What if New Year’s Eve is in the summer instead of winter? Summer is the season where the weather is hot. Some people prefer hot weather to cold weather. I prefer hot weather to cold weather.

Here is what would happen if New Year’s Eve is in the summer instead of winter. More people will go to the countdown in New York unless the weather is very hot. People can wear comfortable clothing. People can eat ice cream as they wait for the ball to drop. Singers and dancers do not have to worry about the cold weather as they perform in front of the public. Also, nighttime will not come early. People will have more time with the sun. However, they need to put sunscreen on. People will be drinking more water as well. People can come to the countdown for summer vacation. That is something they can look forward to during the summer. Students in school can agree that having New Year’s Eve during the summer is a good way to start the new school year. Their new school year starts in August or September. Another important thing is that people can celebrate New Year’s Eve on the beach. People like going to the beach during the summertime. People can do a New Year’s Eve party at the beach. They do not need to go to New York to celebrate. Singers and dancers can perform at beaches. Also, people can watch fireworks! People see fireworks during the summer.

I think having New Year’s Eve during the summertime is a good idea. Do you agree with this idea?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
