11 Cliché But Totally Worth It Netflix Series To Binge Watch This Summer

Because who doesn't want to spend their whole summer indoors?

As summer approaches and our free time hopefully increases, what sounds better than starting a new show on Netflix?

Let me answer that- nothing. Nothing sounds better than relaxing in my own bed and winding down from the crazy school year. As someone who's watched about every show you can on Netflix, trust me when I say these ones are some of the best.

Even if a few of them do sound a tad bit girly and over-dramatic, they are all worth the watch.

1. Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl is the OG Netflix series. Just about every single one of my friends (including some of the guys) have watched this show- a few even more than once. The drama of the Upper East Side is extremely consuming. Oh and it's probably better to watch this show over the summer so you don't spend every waking second wanting to watch it and then not studying for your finals.

2. 90210

90210 is basically the Gossip Girl of Beverly Hills, except it seems slightly more realistic (not really though.) I've actually watched this show 3 times through.

3. New Girl

If you like cringe-worthy shows such as The Office, then you will absolutely love New Girl. Although sometimes you want to look away because its just too cringey, Jess is still hilarious and I can guarantee every episode will have you laughing.

4. Stranger Things

Stranger Things is definitely the new wave. I didn't even know the show existed until the second season came out and then I watched both seasons in a weekend. I've also heard they are creating a Stranger Things park at Universal Studios... (can someone please deny or confirm this, preferable confirm.)

5. Vampire Diaries

I just started Vampire Diaries over a week ago and I'm already on season 3. That's just how good it is. Sometimes I get a little freaked out and have weird dreams/nightmares involving vampires, but it's all good. The show is still worth it.

6. Grey's Anatomy

Ahhhh Grey's Anatomy. What a classic. Although some of the later seasons are pretty shitty, season 1-9 are amazing. They never fail to leave you in your feels and wanting more. Highly addicting.

7. Riverdale

Riverdale is one of those shows that sometimes has bad acting but still has a really interesting plot line so you watch it anyway. If you like hot guys and were a Suite Life of Zack and Cody fam, 10/10 would recommend.

8. Shameless

In my humble opinion, Shameless is the best show on this list. Season 8 NEEDS to come out on Netflix soon.

9. Law and Order: SVU

If you like crime shows, SVU is the one for you. Each character is amazing and they have you wishing it wasn't just a TV show. Not always a show I would recommend to watch when you're home alone at night, but other than that SVU is a must.

10. The Carrie Diaries

The Carrie Diaries is a spin-off of the show Sex and the City. The series takes you through the early life of Carrie Bradshaw and does not lack creativeness.

11. Fuller House

You either love it or you hate it. Personally, I thought the show was very funny and I would love to see more seasons. It may not be as great as the original, but it definitely has it's own unique spin that I loved.

So take your pick, but you really can't go wrong with any of the above. Good luck.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
