Netflix Hidden Gems

The following movies I have personally watched at least 12 times. They are that good. These are the types of movies that you tweet about and tell everyone that “we have to watch this right now” at movie nights. And of course, the best part is they are all on Netflix. So no need to scroll through Netflix for twenty minutes before settling for a bad Adam Sandler flick anymore, I have saved the day with this list!

1. "Jamesy Boy"

Okay so this is my favorite movie of all time next to "Titanic", no exaggeration. It tells this crazy story about a 14-year-old boy who looks like a really ugly cross between Justin Bieber and Channing Tatum. He’s on the brink of screwing his life up forever when he decides to drop out of school and join a gang. The storytelling is top notch in this as well. Oh and it’s based on a true story.

2. "Crossroads"

I feel like I shouldn’t have to say much as to why you should watch this because Britney Spears is in it; that should be the only reason you need. Also this story is deep and super crazy! And she performs a badass cover of “I love Rock N Roll”

3. "Save the Last Dance"

This movie is a must watch mostly because it is so late nineties/early 2000s. But it’s also one of the greatest love stories of all time; forbidden love. Talk about relationship goals!!

4."Four Brothers"


Okay this movie is basically Jamesy Boy on steroids. These four very different guys all shared the same foster mother together growing up. When the lose her to gang violence, the four team up as brothers to find the killer of their mother. And Sofia Vergara and Mark Whalberg are hilarious, dime pieces like always.

5. "Scooby Doo Spooky Island"

Don’t act like this wasn’t your favorite movie at one point in your childhood. I mean we’re talking about a real-life Scooby Doo here. I honestly believed that a real dog had those ghost-fighting capabilities so props to the technical animation team. This movie is just as great to watch as a 19-year-old, mainly because you finally understand all the jokes.

So next movie night I beg of you: please watch these must-watches! They’ll make you laugh, they’ll make you cry, they’ll make you forever

Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
