I am a page at a public library. And this week was National Library week. This is my first year when I have worked at a library during National Library Week. They had poster boards up with post-it notes that patrons could write on about what they appreciate about their library. The library is definitely a place to appreciate with all of the free things they offer including books and online resources. There are also librarians that are trained especially to help the general public. I would say the library is one of the least non-judgmental public places I have worked. I have always been thankful for the library and have found myself become even more thankful as an employee. I have felt the library become my family over the course of a year. And have learned so much, and am still learning so much about what the library has to offer and about the different things related to being a librarian or library employee including library programs such as story times for children and book clubs for adults. Libraries are a wonderful and inclusive part of every community.
