1. My Favorite Red Lipsticks

As of now, I have two favorite red lipsticks, which are the Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored and Besame Cherry Red 1935. Both of these pull truly red on me without looking too orange or too blue, while being comfortable on my lips. The Fenty lip paint lasts through an entire meal without needing a touchup and has a unique applicator that aids with its application. The formula is thinner than a typical liquid lip so if you aren’t careful the lipstick can bleed. But overall, I like this red because it is a flattering shade, it lasts long, and its comfortable.

My other favorite red lipstick is Besame Cherry Red 1935 and is a bullet lipstick. Since Besame recreates vintage makeup, the bullet is not shaped like modern lipsticks. The bullet shape does not detract from the application, however. Cherry Red 1935 is not as long lasting as Stunna, but it fades evenly, and you can sheer it out into a lip stain. The formula is also creamy and pigmented. Lastly, Besame has a wide variety of reds to suit varying skin tones from warm to cool toned reds.

2. My Go-to Lip Scrub

I like the Bite Agave Sugar Lip Scrub because it makes my matte lipsticks comfortable to wear. I notice a difference when I do not use the scrub because if I do not my matte lipsticks are uncomfortable and drying. When I do use it I forget, that I am wearing a matte lipstick. The scrub also has a nice fragrance and is made with natural ingredients, so if you accidentally swallow it, it will not be harmful.

3. My Favorite Dark Lipsticks

I love a great dark lip and two of my favorites are Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Woolf and Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Midnight. Woolf is a blue-grey that is perfect when you want to wear a dark lip that is not black. It is a flattering grey and does not look corpse-like. The Anastasia lipstick in Midnight is a pigmented and opaque matte black lipstick, and it is perfect for the days when you want to channel your inner queen of darkness. When you combine with the lip scrub I mentioned before, it is incredibly comfortable to wear.

4. The Best Lip Gloss

The Fenty Glow Lip Luminizer is the most beautiful lip gloss I have tried. It has a large doe foot applicator, so it is perfect for people with fuller lips, and it is pigmented and hydrating. The color is beautiful rose gold, and it suits almost anyone. You can wear the gloss on its own as a glossy nude lip or over a lipstick for the ultra glossy lip. The lip gloss also smells great and is not sticky, so I think its worth the $18.

5. My Favorite Satin Lipsticks

For satin lipsticks, I love the YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks because they are incredibly pigmented and moisturizing. The colors selection is limited and sticks to classic colors such as red and pink, but they are flattering. This lipstick is not super long lasting but they fade evenly so reapplying is not an issue. This lipstick is $37, but it is worth it. I love the pinks and fuchsias in this lipsticks because they are the most flattering pinks I have found. There are also matte versions of this lipstick if you don’t like satin finishes.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
