Every since I was introduced to Audrey Hepburn and Breakfast at Tiffany's by my awesome Aunt Terri, I have LOVED old movies. There is just something about them that makes them so special compared to watching a movie that was made today. I always get a different feeling when I watch an old movie verses newer ones! So one of my goals this summer is to check some major classics off of my list. I'm hoping that I will inspire people to join me in my old movie summer marathon (haha). If you love old movies as much as I do, then you will hopefully enjoy reading my list! If you see any classics that you love, comment and let me know what you think!

My Summer Movie List: Classics Edition:

1. Casablanca

I know what you are probably thinking, "How has she not seen Casablanca?!" My answer is that I have no idea (haha). But I have been DYING to see it and this is going to be the summer that I watch it! If you haven't seen it, you should. It is a classic after all!

2. Mildred Pierce

Ever since I started watching the tv show Feud on FX, a show about the strained relationship of Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, I have been really interested in seeing more of their movies. Mildred Pierce is one of Crawford's movies that I am really hoping to see!

3. What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?

Of course after seeing the TV show Feud, I REALLY want to see this movie! It is a horror classic and I love that it was based off of a book so maybe I will try to read the book this summer before I watch it. But if you haven't seen it and you watch the show, you should! It's a horror classic!

4. The Philadelphia Story

This is another one that I have wanted to watch for awhile now! Katharine Hepburn is a rock star! If you love her and have not seen this movie, it is a must!

5. Rebecca

I have had the book Rebecca for a while now and I have wanted to read it before I saw the movie. So putting the movie on my list is my way of making sure I finally read the book so I can watch the movie this summer!

6. Charade

I love both Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn! This one is on Netflix so it will be easy to watch and I heard it was really good! If you haven't seen this one, you should try it!

7. Roman Holiday

I own this movie and I haven't seen it yet! This is going to be the summer when I watch it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
