My Response To "You Have Too Many Books"

Let's talk for a minute.

My Response To "You Have Too Many Books"

I will admit that, in a way, you are right. I do have a lot of books. But "too many"? That is where we no longer agree.

I don't think that it is possible for a person to have too many books, whether read or unread. Having huge shelves full of read books is just fine, and so is having full shelves of unread books. Read books are all of the adventures you have been on that you can revisit with a flip through the pages, and unread books are all of the adventures that you have yet to go on and all of the characters you will get to meet at some point in your future.

Books are comforting. After a long day full of stress and sometimes tears, it is good to curl up in a comfortable chair with a book and forget about your own problems while you live in someone else's world. Whether it's reading something brand new or rereading a favorite, all of my books send me to my happy place.

Also, honestly, I love looking at them. Full shelves of books with gorgeous covers and soft pages brings me so much happiness, I can hardly begin to describe it. I will literally spend hours reorganizing my bookshelves, complete with lots of photos after. And yes, I will spend hours looking at beautiful shelves full of books on Instagram and Pinterest. #bookstagram

Finally, I just really love learning. Even in genres like YA and fantasy, I really learn a lot while reading. Books teach you words, morals, and the subject matter often makes you really think about what you believe. I grow from reading.

I am going to school to get a job where I create more books. I want to have more books, and I can't imagine a world where I don't have a ton of books. I can't wait until it is my job to read through manuscripts, send the author a letter that will make them super happy, and be a part of creating that book through making the cover, choosing the font, and doing all of those little things!

So, while I may have over 150 unread books, and I may have had to buy a second suitcase just to be able to bring home all of the books that I bought in Scotland over the past two months, I will always continue to deny the accusation that I have "too many" books.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
