My playlist for every one of my moods

My playlist for every one of my moods…

Music is probably my favorite thing to listen to when I'm feeling down, need motivation or when I feel like singing my heart out. It's the universal language that speaks to everyone with every language to every sound to every lyric. I have always loved music, and since I have always loved writing, I find that a simple poem can be a song, a story that tells my truth. That is what I try to do when I'm in a certain type of mood. I made a few playlists with different genres of music for when I want to feel different things.

I have a playlist titled "sad music for sad days." I made this playlist for when you've just had a bad day and you want to feel more sad with that feeling. It might sound a little self-deprecating but you know that everyone loves to do this. This is also perfect for a rainy and gloomy day when the raindrops cover the windows. Just to give you a little bit of taste of what's inside it, the playlist consists of break-up Taylor Swift songs, some dark Lorde songs, a little bit of Adele and a sprinkle of Fleetwood Mac.

I have another playlist titled "groovy type of feel." This playlist is more of an aesthetic playlist that is more for my soft boys and girls. It's good for when you want something groovy and a little more underground alternative. This playlist consists of the likes of Clairo, Lana del Rey, Rex Orange County, Joji, and Omar Apollo, just to name a few.

Another playlist that I love is my "throwbacks playlist." This one is for when you want some throwback music, or you want to feel like a kid again. This has all types of genres from Avril Lavigne, to Rihanna and Mariah Carey and the Black Eyed Peas.

I also have a "Latino playlist." This playlist is for when I want to listen to music with my roots in them. It's amazing to be part of such a cultural and suave Hispanic background, so when I want to dance or move my hips a little, I put this on. This ranges from corridos to cumbias, bachata, and reggaetón.

Oh and I also have a country playlist for my countryside. But the country isn't for everyone.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
