My Experience As Media At Bassrush Massive AZ
Christian W. Hundley

Bassrush Massive AZ is an EDM event that took place on May 6, 2017, at Rawhide Event Center in Chandler, Arizona. The lineup for the event had artists like Adventure Club, Herobust, Flux Pavilion, NGHTMRE, SAYMYNAME and more. Rawhide is a small but clean venue that consisted of different food stations, free water refill station and a merchandise tent. There was one main stage where all of the artists performed and crowd gathered. Some of the visuals during each artist's performance were breath-taking. It was an amazing and well-organized event filled with many college students from the local Phoenix, and Tucson areas. I had an incredible opportunity to be media for the event along with my photographer partner, Christian Hundley.

Being media for Bassrush Massive was an experience I was very glad to have been a part of. As a regular music festival goer myself it felt weird, but great, not having to wait in the long lines of eager people. I walked around and explored the entire venue with my partner. I would never have thought I would be the one to hang out at the media tent or have access to different things. I watched as he took the photographs from the very front of the stage, from the side, and the very back. I never really got to look at and admire a full crowd until that day. I got to view a music event from a totally different perspective and I loved it. Not to mention, the photographs my partner took are absolutely amazing. I also got the incredible opportunity to interview one of the artists, Herobust (interview with him will be in my next article).

The crowd was very fun and friendly during the event. The majority of the crowd was headbanging and jumping the entire time during each artist's set. There were many mosh pits that occurred as well. I happened to encounter a very nice group of people, and one of the people in the group gave me all of his kandi (if you're unclear about what kandi is, it's bracelets people make to trade at shows/festivals). I'm happy to say that I got to experience the event with some of my friends from within the crowd. Indeed, it was an amazing time filled with good vibes and great music.

Overall, Bassrush Massive was one of the best events I got to experience and be a part of. I'm not just saying that because I'm a regular event and festival goer. I do, however, recommend people to attend this event if it's at a city near them. The line-ups are different for each city, and the vibes of the crowd depend on the people, but it's still a great time to experience. I'm looking forward to all of the other festivals and events I'll be able to be a part of, crowd wise and media.

I want to give a huge thank you to my photographer partner, Christian Hundley, for giving me incredible opportunities and the entire staff for making Bassrush Massive a successful event. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
