Dear Santa,

I KNOW YOU ARE READING THIS SO DO NOT THROW THIS AWAY!!!!!!!

I know it has been a couple of years since we last saw each other, or even talked to each other. I know we kind of had a falling out after that one not so silent night, but I am willing to put our past behind us and start anew. I have a reason for writing to you because I think we need all of the powers of the holiday season to work together and bring peace on earth. As you probably know, we are in a tough time right now. 2016 has not been nice to anyone and I think that was our fault. It is difficult to try an put a little bit of a broken world together again, but again, that is why I am writing to you. I have two wishes on my Christmas list this year that I hope you can make come true.

My first wish is that everyone can find happiness somewhere. I know that one is asking a lot, but everyone deserves to be happy and I know you have that kind of magic in you. I ask for this wish because recently I finished up this creative paying it forward thing I started at the beginning of the year. Giving those surprises and seeing everyone's face light up was unimaginable. It is a difficult time at the moment for many because it is finals and they are stressed out. My heart becomes full because momentarily, I brought joy to their busy and hectic lives. Everyone deserves to have that look because we need more joy in the world more than ever.

Having said that, my second wish is for peace. Peace not just for Americans, but for all humans all around the world. There has been so much bloodshed going on and it just makes me wonder how we got to this point. On December 25, 1914, there was a "Christmas Truce," a timeless story about two enemy side coming together and uniting momentarily as brothers. In the heat of the Great War, Allied soldiers and the Central Powers soldiers ceased fire and met up in the middle of "No Man's Land." They sang, played football, (soccer to us) and acted like brothers to one another, which showed that no matter what side you are on, we are still humans and we need to be there for one another. Even after the momentary truce, the soldiers went back to fighting each other.

I know these wishes are a long shot, but I cannot do this alone. It is difficult to make the world a little better. I can pray for peace and do a lot of other things that would most likely be against my religion, but I feel like you can help. Reach out to the younger kids. Teach them about peace now while they are young and when they grow up, they can join the voyage for world peace.

I forgive you.

Danny Peters

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
