If you’re a playlist addict like me, you know the great joy that comes with creating a new playlist and bopping to it for the first time. There are few things in life that can compare to that experience. If you’re looking for new ideas for even more playlists, look no further.
1. Favorite songs playlist
Everyone has one artist or genre that they tend to prefer, so make one with all your faves! For me, this is a playlist consisting of Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, twenty one pilots, and Green Day. Check out my playlist, “emo yo.”
2. Country playlist
Whether you like to admit it or not, there’s just something about driving with the windows down in the summer that makes country music a lovely experience. I have one affectionately titled “yeet haw.”
3. Collaborative playlist
Spotify has a great feature that allows other people to work on making a bomb playlist with you. This is a really fun way to jam with your friend group to songs you all like. I have a really great one called “Rose Recommended.”
4. Broadway playlist
You may not know that you need this one yet, but you do. Broadway songs are hands down the catchiest and best of all time and I will absolutely fight anyone who disagrees. Whether you're venturing into NYC to look for a mind at work or the girls at your high school have decided you’re going to be dead by Monday at 8 a.m., there’s a song for you to relate to at every occasion. Check out “trax.”
5. Common bops playlist
Throw together a playlist with some great songs that almost everyone knows for those long road trips with people with varying tastes in music. I highly recommend some Lady Gaga, Jason Derulo’s “In My Head,” and Maroon 5 songs. Check out “sing it” for more inspiration.
6. Party playlist
When you’re getting ready to go out, you need to get pumped up. Pick out some songs with a great beat and get ready to it. Check out my roommate’s playlist “Pregame” for some good ones.
7. Study playlist
A playlist to help you focus is always a good move especially when you’re studying or doing homework. Instrumental music can be a great move for that. I’ve found that musical scores to movies can be a really cool resource for good instrumental music. Check out my playlist “instrumental spring musiCAL” for some examples of this.
8. Chill out playlist
Sometimes you just need to decompress and let all the stresses of the day go. A playlist can be a great way to do that. I’ve compiled a playlist from the Alternative Music Choice channel that works for this purpose for me. Check out “L8.”
9. Random playlist
This playlist is essential for all of the others that don’t quite fit into another section. Where else are you going to put The Lonely Island and the Camp Rock soundtrack? Check out “Em & Kate Road to BG” for a bit of this type.
