Over the weekend, guitar bum Mac DeMarco had his 26th birthday. The Canadian born musician is an unconventional yet totally refreshing musical act. Mac's music ranges from a variety of sounds, but when I close my eyes and just listen, I can't help but think of Summer, the beach and some sweet waves. His music even sounds like it pulls inspiration from The Shadows or Japanese singer, Haruomi Hosono. In honor of the great goofball's birthday, here are some of my favorite Mac performances.
1. "Let Her Go" on Conan O'Brien
2. "Salad Days" at Laneway Melbourne
3. "Still Together" at Pitchfork Music Festival 2013
4. "The Stars Keep Calling My Name" live on KEXP
5. "Ode To Viceroy" live on KEXP
6. "Treat Her Better," Red Converse Light Session
7. "My Kind Of Woman," Safe for Work Session 2013
8. "Freaking Out The Neighborhood," Stage on Sixth 2013
Happy birthday Mac!
