Yes, I am a believer in astrology. I also know alternative music is not for everyone. Hence, why the genre has been dubbed "alternative". Regardless, because, why not, I have compiled a list of talented artists of the indie scene that each zodiac sign should have no trouble jamming out to.

Aries: The Garden

Wyatt and Fletcher. Arguably one of the hottest pairs of twins to ever grace the music industry. These guys literally created their own genre of experimental rock: "vada vada". This wild style is perfect for fiery Aries. The boys, like you, aren't afraid to be themselves.

Cancer: Mac DeMarco

Cancers, being one myself, I can assure you that this recommendation is solid. We are very emotional creatures, resulting in us being romantics. Mac's passionate but chill music sounds how a mellow high feels.

Taurus: The Kooks

Taurus tends to be a grounded sign, so I recommend a pop rock band like the Kooks to best suit your practical taste. They are one of the better known indie bands with hits that can please any musical palette, especially a more conservative one.

Aquarius: Arkells

Hello my intellectual friends, have I got a song you will love. Arkells, particularly with their song "Book Club" are the perfect band for a study session. Though you are bookish, you are also a free spirit, and this Canadian rock band's sound will allow you to soar.

Scorpio: The 1975

Scorpios, let's be real: the defining characteristic of your sign is sex. You are a lustful and passionate group, making the1975 a no-brainer for your perfect indie artist.

Pisces: The Smiths

As a water sign, Pisces are also emotional, mellow people. You're amiable, but sensitive nature will allow you to vibe perfectly with the music of the Smiths. Pro tip: blast this song in your car at night with all the windows rolled down.

Gemini: The Growlers

With your multiple moods, a band that explores multiple genres, from surf rock to synthpop, like The Growlers will best suit you. Each song has a different feel so your indecisive taste will never tire of their tunes (yes, I used the word "tunes" solely for an alliteration).

Leo: The Killers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3xcybdis1k

Yes, many people know of the Killers. However, not everyone has heard a song besides the middle school bop "Mr. Brightside". Leo, I want to introduce you to the equally prideful character Brandon Flowers played as the lead singer of this band. After a brief hiatus, the newest Killers album is just as dramatic as you are.

Capricorn: Nerf Herder

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPWQMyAKRDI

Another Earth sign, Capricorns are very grounded and stable. Nerf Herder is a band originally from my area of SoCal, with a "geek-rock" sound. They do little genre exploration, which will suit your traditional taste.

Virgo: Bane's World

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18QTp8M8LFc

Virgos (and everyone else) I cannot stress this enough. LISTEN TO BANE'S WORLD. His voice can only be described as smooth and angelic. His tender love songs are a perfect match for your guarded, but soft, heart. Each pitch and tone are as equally methodical as your planning skills,

Libra: Frank Ocean

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE005nZeF-A

Listen, I know Frank is a mix of many genres, but one of them is alternative and I love him, okay? His music is mellow, passionate r&b mostly which will suit Libra's peaceful attitude. You crave connection and partnership, and Frank has some damn touching love songs.

Sagittarius: Bear Hands

You are the wandering sign. Restless, in need of change. The unique style of Bear Hands is well suited to these characteristics. This upbeat song will help fuel your extroverted energy.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
