Music is a universal thing. No matter who you are, or where you live, there is music around. For some, music is more important than others. To the ones that listen to it just to listen to it, or the ones that claim they don't like music, it is not that big of a deal. But to others, it's their whole life. To some people, music is what keeps them going through every day. It gives them an escape from their mundane lives.

For these people, music takes them to another world, or just makes their world brighter. They find hope and happiness in the lyrics, and even in the artists themselves. Sometimes that's accomplished through watching interviews, or live performances, or just seeing their social medias. To these people, when a new song is released, they'll play it over and over just to listen to each and every chord and to pick out the changes in pitch. They'll check daily (even hourly) to see if their favorite artist has updated their social media or not.

New songs, or old songs, can bring them to tears if they listen to it at just the right moment, and in just the right mood. Songs they've listened to hundreds of times are still fascinating and sometimes they'll even find something new in the song, or hear it in a different way. This can cause them to start replaying the song over and over again because they're so excited about the new discovery. To the people that love music, hearing their favorite artists voice can bring goosebumps to their skin and can make a smile form quicker than anything else.

These people crave live shows where they can stand surrounded by hundreds of other people, and know they're all there for one thing; to listen to their favorite band or artist play. They want to feel the floor shaking underneath them from the people jumping and from the instruments blasting over the speakers. They want to be able to scream the lyrics alongside every other person in that room and know that nothing will happen to them. Feeling like you may have lost your hearing after a show is a sure sign that it was a great show, and you were close to the stage.

These people spend hours listening to music, and chances are, when they don't have headphones in or speakers blaring, they have a song playing in their head. All the people that love music this much get excited over the simplest thing like a tour announcement, or a new song or album. Some of them even get excited over a picture their favorite artist posted. To the people who love music as much as I do, keep doing your thing. To the ones that don't, I will never understand you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
