A couple of weeks ago, I saw alternative-rock band "The Mowgli's" live in Boston for the first time. I've been listening to their music since their album "Waiting for the Dawn" dropped back in June 2013 and after seeing them, I regret not having attended one of their shows sooner. The experience was like nothing I'd ever felt before. From their palpable energy to their messages of spreading love and positivity to make the world a better place, the show was emotionally moving in ways that I hadn't imagined.

"Waiting for the Dawn" was an album, among a few others, to help me through a really difficult place in my life. Though much of their set list were tracks from their two most recent albums, their consistently upbeat sound and catchy lyrics grounded me in the strangest way. I remember looking at my best friend just a few minutes into their set, emotion clearly visible on my face as I realized just how much of an impact their music has had on me, which is why I've compiled this list of 12 songs by "The Mowgli's" that'll bring a little bit of positivity to anyone's day:

1. "Alone Sometimes"

Man, it feels good to be alone sometimes

God I gotta say those are my favorite nights

When no one’s around, and I’m still speaking my mind

Man, it feels good to be alone sometimes

2. "Room for All of Us"

It’s more important now

Than it ever was before

To dance into the room of love

Before they slam the door

But the world’s been keeping us

A universe apart

But I can feel the oneness in

The beating of our hearts

3. "Whatever Forever"

And when the sun comes up

Like it always does

It’s whatever forever

You know we’re falling together

And when the sun comes up

Like it always does

It’s whatever forever

And it just keeps getting better

4. "Bad Thing"

This ain’t no bad thing

If you keep comin’ around

Things could get messy

I don’t dare cause I know this ain’t the real thing baby

Lonely lately

So what do we got to lose?

5. "Last Forever"

I never met somebody made me move like dancing

Release my fear, take another chance

I will never forget the feeling in my hands

6. "San Francisco"

I’ve been in love with love

And the idea of something binding us together

You know that love is strong enough

I’ve seen time tell tales about that systematic drug

Yeah that heart that beats as one

It’s collectively unconsciously composed

7. "I'm Good"

I’m good, I’m good, I’m good, I’m good

Living life just like I should

Wouldn’t change it if I could

I’m good, I’m good, I’m good

8. "So What"

I’m feelin’ alright

Throw your hands together

If you’re feelin’ tonight

I’m feelin’ alright for the first time in a long time

So throw your hands together

If you’re feelin’ tonight

9. "What's Going On"

If the rain gets in, we can wash our hands,

Because there’s always time for living life.

If the sun is out, we’ll go out of our house.

It’s better for you, better for me

To get outside and see what’s going on.

10. "Love Me Anyway"

Oh you know I love you

But no I am not a saint

Oh I make stupid mistakes

But you love me anyway

11. "Clean Light"

I hope you know you’re loved

And that’s enough

What doesn’t change

Doesn’t matter anyway

We are underneath the sun in the same love

12. "4AM"

It’s 4AM and I’m really hoping you will stay

Cause it would tear me up if I had to watch you walk away

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
