In a diverse society, we see differences in everything, everywhere -- even differences among the same group of people. Christianity is currently one of the largest, if not the largest, world religion. Even though most people claim to practice the Christian faith, there are still many different denominations and traditions that surround it. There is so much focus on following systems that we forget to follow The Savior.
The film Holy Ghost is directed by Darren Wilson. It is a documentary where real life Christians travel through the world in order to bring the Holy Spirit to people who have not given their lives to Christ. There is no denominational bias involved -- just Jesus.
Atheists/Agnostics:
Maybe you don't believe because you were raised in a religious home that you felt was very pushy and not so much about the grace, but about the traditions. Maybe you don't believe because you've never had an encounter with Jesus. Maybe you think Jesus doesn't want you because you're too broken or you're having issues in your life. Maybe you don't believe because you think religious people are snobs. Maybe you don't believe because you don't know how to ask for Jesus to enter your life. Maybe you don't believe because you think that miracles aren't real. If any of these things apply to you, then this movie is for you. The idea isn't to convert you, but it's to give you the chance to experience the real Jesus and what following Him is really about, despite what you've heard or despite what you've experienced.
I'm here to tell you that Jesus does exist and yes He wants a relationship with you. I'm here to tell you that it's not about what you've done in your life because Jesus paid for those sins on the cross. He spilled every drop of blood so that you could be saved by grace. The only thing you have to do is believe in Him and when you do that, you will discover love and you will discover wholeness. You'll discover that it isn't about religion. It's about a relationship with Jesus.
Believers:
As I said before, there are many sorts of us believers and no matter if we're Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, or whatever, above all, we are followers of Christ. It is our job to draw people closer to Jesus and to set a good example of our faith for the ones in need of saving. We need to reach out to people who aren't right with God.
15 While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
-Mark 2:15-17
This film sets a great example as to how we, as the saved believers in Christ, should treat the people who haven't given their lives to Christ yet. Not only that, but it is very uplifting and powerful for believers to see and to share.
This film could save a soul... literally.
