I Asked 13 Friends To Crown Halloween, Thanksgiving Or Christmas The King Of Holidays

Halloween just ended, and I'm already sad about it. Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. There are people who have already got their Christmas tree up and have completely forgotten about Halloween. Some people prefer Thanksgiving and the low key parts about it. All of the holiday talk got me to thinking about which of these holidays people thought was the best and why. Here are some answers I received.

The question: Which out of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas is your favorite and why?

1. "Halloween is my favorite because it changes every year. I dress up as something different every year, and it reflects my personality at that time in my life."

2. "Thanksgiving is my favorite because of all the food. Mashed potatoes are life."

3. "Halloween is my favorite because you aren't really expected to see family on Halloween, and my family and I don't get along very well."

4. "Christmas is my favorite because of the music. I start listening to Christmas music as soon as it hits Halloween." Lol

5. "Halloween is my favorite because it brings out everyone's goofy side. Most of the holidays you're expected to act serious and all that, and Halloween is for everyone to just be themselves. I love it."

6. "Christmas because of Hallmark movies. I'm a huge romantic, so they always make me feel so warm and fuzzy inside."

7. "Thanksgiving for sure because it just involves sitting on the couch and eating."

8. "Christmas is my favorite because everyone seems happier around Christmas time. I also love buying everyone presents!"

9. "Christmas is my favorite because I work in a soup kitchen downtown and everyone is so grateful!"

10. "Halloween is my favorite because I work at a mall and I have to work the other holidays and it's madness."

11. "Thanksgiving because I get to eat a lot and then my family and I go shopping together."

12. "It's hard to choose, but Halloween because I feel like it gets the least amount of attention."

13. Christmas because the new year is right around the corner and I love fresh starts!"

Christmas: 5

Halloween: 5

Thanksgiving: 3

Halloween and Christmas were tied, and Thanksgiving was left in the dust. Regardless of your favorite holiday, I hope your holidays are full of fun and what your favorite part of them is!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
