For those who don't know, Marshall and Lily are my favorite TV couple ever. I do love Jim and Pam, and Ross and Rachel, and all the other famous duos that people love and adore, but these two are the OG for me. They are hilarious, funny, crazy, kinky, loving, and everything between all that. Today I'm not going to write a letter, give advice, or anything of that nature. Today I want to share with you why I think that Marshall Eriksen and Lily Aldrin is the best couple on television. Enjoy.

1. Cute Original Nicknames
Their nicknames say it all. Marshmallow and Lily Pad? You don't get much more original than that. I don't see Jim and Pam or any other TV couple with awesome nicknames (no disrespect for them though).
2. The Olive Theory
The Olive Theory: Marshall hates olives, and Lily loves them. That's how they know they are meant to be... UNTIL Marshall reveals that he loves Olives and he is terrified he will ruin the relationship because of that, but in the end Lily decided that she doesn't need some theory to tell her who to love. She loves him for him, and that's what matters.
4. Their Fights
Marshal and Lily tend to "pause" whenever their fights get out of hand. Is it smart? That is debatable, but it is original and clever for their relationship, so I will give them a point for that one.
5. "Crazy Monkey Sex"
These two are very open about their sex life. There are scenes where they will talk about their role playing adventures or where one of them is completely naked while the other one walks into the room. Honestly, they are confident and always putting themselves out there, so I will definitely argue that that is a major point to this argument here.
6. Why They Decided To Have a Kid
Most people decide that they will have a kid because "they're ready." That is not the case for these two. Marshall and Lily decide to have a baby AFTER they have seen all of the gang's doppelgangers. Crazy, right? They are very superstitious about things revolving around their relationship, and it makes it more real. Another point for Marshmallow and Lily Pad.
7. Their Airport/Lunch Ritual
THE BEST TRADITION. Whenever one of the two love birds go on a trip, the other surprises them as a chauffeur, while the vacationer brings back a pack of beer with a funny pun in the name. One time they both panicked and didn't know if they should continue this tradition or not, but in the end they pulled through. Marshall brought a whole marching band to surprise Lily, while she brought him a WHOLE keg of beer. During all of this? They call each other while they are apart to ask what they each had for lunch. Adorable.
