Some days you have a full two hours to shower, pick out an outfit, do your makeup and curl your hair. And sometimes, (actually, let’s face it, most of the time...) you have ten minutes to do all of the above.

So, on those “Oh my god, how am I gonna get everything done?” days- here are a couple beauty tips I’ve picked up that have actually been life-saving.

Trust me, they’ve been my go-to's for a while now.

1. Use your moisturizer as a primer for your eyelids

It’ll make your eyeshadow stay on waaaay longer and it’ll save you major bucks on actual primer.

2. Invest in Q-tips

They save makeup errors. Smudge your mascara? Your eyeliner? Just dip it in makeup remover and dab away wherever needed.

3. Recently, I’ve been using my foundation on my lips as a base.

Lipstick is always a pain for me because it ends up wiping away the minute I decide to drink, eat or even talk too much (oops?). Then I put lipstick color of choice over and boom! Lips for hours.

4. How to look like you got sleep

Usually, the days where I have less time, are the days I’m more tired aka my eyes give away the very obvious lack of sleep. On those mornings, I put on a tiny bit of concealer underneath my eyes (usually a somewhat lighter color to help perk up) and then use a gold tinted eyeshadow on my eyes, add a dab of mascara and voila! 8 hours of sleep.

5. Tease your hair

I love my hair color but hate my hair. I have literally zero volume when it comes to it and I suffer from literally always having the same hairstyle. The days when I want to try a new fun hairstyle, I struggle because of my lack of volume. This all changed when I figured out that teasing your hair gives you crazy volume, fun top knots and cool braids are now mine (*cue evil laugh*). I use a regular hair brush to tease strands out and it really does do wonders! But... just FYI: knots are inevitable.

6. I go through different skin tones throughout the year

Ranging from super tan to kinda pale-ish. I end up using the same foundation all year though! I go for a darker base and when I’m paler, I just mix it with my moisturizer and oh hey, just saved 30 bucks on foundation.

Those are my basic tips and tricks, ya girl swears by them! Hope they get you five minutes more zzz time and saves you the hassle of a complicated beauty routine!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
