Confession: I’m addicted to makeup. I have way too many products that do the exact same thing, yet somehow convince myself that their SLIGHT differences are what make them worth keeping/buying.

I love my collection and adore the items I have, but the true test for an addict like me is to figure out what makeup to travel with. Picking favorites is a painstaking process, but after traveling around Europe for the past month I feel like I’ve successfully created my perfect travel bag.

1. Milani Conceal and Perfect

I’ve wrote about about how much I love this foundation before, and the fact that I’m traveling with it says even more about how amazing it is. It is a full coverage foundation that doesn’t look or feel heavy on the skin, and will just make my skin look flawless even if I’m having an awful skin day.

I usually don’t wear this everyday when I travel, but I keep it on hand in case we decide to go to a club or special event.

2. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

THIS. IS. LIFE. I struggle with acne and have never found a concealer that is as full coverage, blendable, and long-wearing as this one. I use this much more than my foundation because it makes my skin look even and airbrushed without me having to wear too much makeup.

3. NYX HD Finishing Powder (Banana)

I love this for setting my lids and under-eye area. Yellow powders help illuminate the skin and brighten up dull areas, and that is exactly what this powder does. It is super lightweight, but still manages to set my face products into place all day.

4. Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer (Cafe)

This is technically a concealer, but I like to use it to bronzer/contour my face. I combine these steps together when I’m on the go because I don’t have time to do both! The shade Cafe is a perfect warm-toned brown that looks very natural and healthy on my skin. I also like how this concealer is a little luminous, so it gives a beautiful dimensional look to the cheeks.

5. NYX Whipped Cheek & Lip Souffle (Pink Cloud)

This is awesome as a cream blush and lipstick! This gives a natural flush to the cheeks and makes my entire face look more fresh and perky. I honestly only use this as a blush if I have time or am not in the mood for a bronzy look, and will usually just use the Maybelline concealer and highlighter.

However, this is my go-to lipstick for traveling! I love this pink shade and how it’s one of those “My lips but better” shades that will complete any look.

6. NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator (Sunbeam)

I’ve been a die-hard fan of this highlighter for years. It’s a super glittery icy pink highlighter, but somehow doesn’t look intense on the skin. The glitter gives a beautiful dewy look that I love, and the cool toned pink somehow looks so natural on my warm skin tone. I’ll also use this on my eyelids as a quick eyeshadow if I’m in the mood.

7. Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara

Again, I’ve been a fan of this mascara for a long time. I don’t want to fuss with an eyeliner when traveling, so I want a mascara that will make my eyes look amazing. This mascara not only lengthens, volumizes, and thickens my lashes with just one coat, but also lasts ALL day. It is my favorite mascara I’ve ever tried and I don’t see that changing anytime soon, which says a lot for someone like me!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
