Christmas is literally my favorite time of year. I am from a smaller city in Michigan called St. Clair Shores in Macomb County and Christmases there are so much more special to me than anywhere else. That being said here are 5 of my favorite things to do during Christmas in Macomb County.

1. Driving down Jefferson Ave on Christmas eve to look at lights. All the houses are huge, one belonging to Art Van and also the Edsel and Eleanor Ford house, and each one is decked out in Christmas lights every year. It really is a sight to see and it is one of my families favorite Christmas traditions.

2. The St. Clair Shores tree lighting at City Hall is so much fun to go to every year. It's fun for everyone including kids, parents and our four-legged friends. What's better than Christmas lights and dogs?

3. The Detroit Zoo's Wild Lights are only a short drive down I-696 and only $10 admission at the gate. Not so unreasonably priced and a good destination to take that special someone. They have over 5 million LED lights and 200 displays.

4. If you feel up for a little drive the mall at Partridge Creek is a holiday go to for my family and I. Its an outside mall so it is always decorated around the holiday. Also it's an outdoor mall, meaning there are dogs there. Need I say more?

5. Alright so this last one isn't Macomb County but everyone has to go to Campus Martius during the holiday season wither to ice skate or look at lights. From my hometown it's only a 15 minute drive there, it's inexpensive and fun for the whole family.

Everyone be sure to remember what the holidays are about. Volunteer, spend time with family, spread joy and love everywhere you go. From my family to yours, happy holidays
