Forgive yourself

Love yourself

I haven't posted in a long time but I decided I would sit down and write what has been on my mind lately. You see I am not a depressed person but lately I haven't been myself. I usually enjoy dancing and music but for some reason I have found myself not enjoying life like I did a few months ago. Yes, things have changed and I am chasing my dreams and goals as an actor. I am struggling to pay my bills but I refuse to give up. Making the move from Arkansas to Michigan to Illinois was a huge step for me and it has been a year since I have made that step. I am a background actor for the Chicago Shows such as Chicago Med, PD and Fire. I absolutely love being on set and I realize that is when I am the happiest. The point of my story is find your happiness and sometimes it is so hard but once you find it, that is the first step. I do however miss my family in Arkansas especially my kids and sister and nieces and nephews. There are some days I want to give up and go back to Arkansas but really what would that prove? Not only would it prove that I am a failure once again but I would be miserable at a dead end job and not achieve anything. My daughter is my number one fan, she has told me I can achieve anything, I wonder where she had heard that before. HAHa! Like mother like daughter. I have realized in order to succeed you must love yourself and set goals so that is what I am doing. I am not perfect by far and I have made several mistakes but I am still a good person and a good mom. There are days I feel like I have failed at life and I get up and keep fighting every day. I can't change things from the past however I can change my present life and my future. Don't let anyone control your life and tell you what to do or how to live your life. One of the hardest things for is to forgive myself and love myself, I have realized I may not be able to forgive myself but I do love myself and will accomplish my goals. I wake up every day and tell myself I can do it and I will be successful. Keep working toward your goals. Love yourself!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
