A Love Letter To My One and Only: Grilled Cheese
Publik Works

My Dearly Beloved (or should I say heavenly divine sandwich of the gods),

I am writing you this love letter to express my unconditional love for all the hard work you do for me. From your perfectly crisp outside, all the way to your mouthwatering layers of cheeses galore, you are everything to me.

I’d first like to point out your stunning figure and golden brown complexion. For most sandwiches, it takes hours for them to even try to look how you do. For you, it’s just natural. Others try to copy your beauty like that “Monte Cristo” sandwich, but we all know adding a slice of deli ham to the mix just ruins and disgraces your simple elegance.

Some say your crust is a little rough around the edges, mighty grilled cheese, but you know I like it a little rough every once in a while.

This may sound dramatic, but the art of your perfectly melted layers of cheese leaves me breathless every time. I know how much work and effort it takes for you to look your best for me, and I want you to know I truly appreciate it.

As I await our lunch date every day, I can’t help but get a little nervous. Just thinking about your beautiful form makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have you.

The perfect blend of toasty perfection on your outside and gooey flawlessness on the inside practically leaves me in tears every time we meet. Many people have tried telling me that you’re not right for me, and it’s an unhealthy relationship to have, but we both know we aren’t good for anyone else.

And how could I write you this love letter without even mentioning your heavenly companion, tomato soup.

You two work together to make my taste buds whirl in a merry-go-round every single time. How does a duo like you two know how to satisfy my needs and expectations all in one simple bite? If you ask me, I think you make the perfect combination.

So thank you, grilled cheese, for making me want to be a better person. Making me want to succeed in life and most importantly, filling my stomach with your perfection whenever I ask. You are truly one of a kind.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
