I Love College, And It's Just Getting Started

How is it almost Thanksgiving; I feel like it should still be August?

I Love College, And It's Just Getting Started
Robyn Hearn

College has been the best thing that has happened to me, and it's only my first semester. Every day when I wake up, even though I'm tired, I'm still excited to get my day started. Every day is something new, and it makes me super excited to get started with my career.

This semester has gone by too fast. It's almost November, then it'll be Thanksgiving Break, and then finals week. This is going by way too fast. I feel like every day I'm doing something that is memorable that I would love to capture and keep it forever to replay in the future. I've already made some memories that I can't wait to look back on and cherish. I've made some friends that I pray are with me from now to graduation day.

I'm happy with where I am in college. I'm happy with my school, my choice of major, and just knowing that Stillwater is almost like home. I'm happy that I went off to college because I miss my family, but I'm having so much fun that I can't wait to go home during the breaks to tell them all about it (and sleep). I know that my family is super excited for me to be getting this experience as well.

Even though this semester is far from over, I'm still making so many memories! I'm sad that it's going by so quickly; like how are we almost to Thanksgiving?! HOW?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
