In life, being optimistic can be hard. Why be positive when negativity is so much easier? In a society where school shootings, suicides, and hatred exists, it's easy to lose sight of all the good our society does indeed have.

Instead of being weak and letting those negative thoughts intrude, be strong to let yourself have peace of mind.

Enter your day with the intention of of granting anyone whom you may interact with, with prosperity and happiness.

Make everyone important in your life feel like they are enough and that there is something special within them.

To be optimistic is to make your optimism come true. Look at the world with hope. Even when it's gloomy, look at the day as if it sunny.

Get rid of the intrusive thoughts and think only the finest thoughts. Expect the best and you will receive it.

Look at life with color. It is bright and beautiful and here for you.

Being optimistic can be mistaken as narcissistic. Do not let that happen. Be just as happy about others successes as you would be your own.

The past is the past, pay attention to the greater things coming for you in the future.

Smile. Head up and smile. Smile at yourself and others.

Think only about you and how to make you the best you so you have no time to denounce others.

Be happy. Too happy to let trouble effect you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
