As far as weather goes, hurricanes have never been on my radar. I've lived through tornadoes, horrible thunderstorms and horrible snow storms. University of South Carolina was lucky enough to escape the full affects of the storm. The sequence of events leading up to Hurricane Irma are documented here, told by the cast of High School Musical.

1. The moment you realized there was a hurricane coming

We were more than a little shocked when they found out that a hurricane was coming towards campus.

2. The range of emotions you experienced

Everywhere from "this is literally the end of the world" to "well we were all going to go out eventually might as well be now."

3. Trying to get your life together before the hurricane hits

After the initial shock wore off, you began to realize that it may be time to stock up on a few essentials. This is closely followed by the realization that literally every other person on the Southeast Coast had the same exact thought as you, and there is no store within 100 miles that still has bottled water. Creativity points go to the guys on my floor who bought 5 gallons of sweet tea instead.

4. Having teachers tell you "Do NOT expect class to be cancelled"

There will always be that one professor who does not believe in extenuating circumstances-even with the chance of a category 5 hurricane headed your way. I guess you'll just have to swim through the flood waters to your 10:05?

5. But then classes get cancelled anyways

That previously mentioned professor can suck it!

6. Except only Monday is cancelled, so you still have to take that exam this week

Even though you knew it was unrealistic, you're still disappointed that classes were not cancelled all week long. You were less than thrilled when you realized you couldn't put off studying for your exam until next weekend.

7. Having to convince everyone back home that you really will be okay

It may seem like every person that you have ever met is contacting you to see if you are going to be okay. For everyone back home, we will be fine. Drenched, windswept and freezing, but fine.

8. And trying to convince yourself you will actually use the day off wisely

We all expected to get our lives together, but in reality the only productive thing we got done was finally finishing season three of Gossip Girl. The weather is too bad for homework anyways.

Stay safe USC! We're all in this together!

We've got our first hurricane of the season down! Cheers to the long weekend! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people who got hit much, much harder than we did.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
