If you are anything like me, Disney movies were a staple in your childhood. I have such fond memories of curling up on the couch and delving into the magic and wonder of these films. But now as a college student, I have the opportunity to look at them in a new light. So here are six Disney movies that are my personal favorite and the lessons I see them teaching:

1. Snow White

Several things can be taken away from this classic movie: don't eat apples from creepy old women because it'll probably be poisoned, don't go into the dark woods, short people are our friends, and have no sense of self-urgency. Instead, let a prince solve your problems. Also, whistling while working is a good way to pass the time.

2. Tangled

I didn't even know anything except a fire could smolder, much less a handsome face. Who can forget the smolder of Flynn Ryder?

And remember that mother knows best, especially if she kidnaps you, keeps you locked in a tower, and is using your hair to achieve immortality. It comes from a place of love.

3. Hercules

If you want people to like you, get really ripped and beautiful. Nobody wants to be friends with a zero when they can be friends with a hero. Finding a magic horse and five women who'll chronicle your journey via song is a real plus.

4. Little Mermaid

Selling your soul to a satanic octopus lady is okay as long as it secures you a rich bachelor. And don't be afraid to give up your entire livelihood for a man; they love it when you do stuff like that. Also, don't listen to your parents and run away from home when you don't get your way because it'll totally work out in the end.

5. Mary Poppins

If you ever are in charge of children, take them onto the rooftop. Children love dancing on rooftops, especially if there is a gaggle of jolly chimney sweeps partaking because chimney fumes definitely aren't bad to inhale. Sass out the parents if they question what you are doing. It's a free country.

6. Cinderella

If people are bullying you, don't do anything. Don't stand up for yourself. Don't fight for your rights. Just do as you are told, because a miracle worker will eventually find you and give you your happily ever after.

Remember: a man is the only way you will every be happy and until you find him, stick to house work and befriending mice.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
