During the years 2007–2012, it was every girl's dream to be transferred into the Upper East Side, living the fabulous life of some character in "Gossip Girl." For me that character was always Blair Waldorf; she was a fictional goddess, and I strived to be just like her. Her confidence and attitude took me by storm, making her appear as an unstoppable force. Even three years after the last season has ended, many college students still look back at those old episodes, quoting and looking up to Queen B.

Here are some of the lessons that Blair Waldorf has taught us over the years:

Perseverance

Stop at nothing to get what you want. Drive, motivation and determination will help you to get far in life. Whether it be that new job or that new man, keep pushing forward. Never wait around for something to come to you, for if it is truly something you want, then you need to fight to get it.

You don't need a man in your life.

You are a strong independent woman, who does not need a man to make your life complete. Being happy and satisfied with yourself will lead you to a fulfilled life. If you do find a guy to spend your time with, make sure he treats you right. No guy is worth your time if he acts like you're not worth his. Never settle for anything less than what you deserve.

Be blunt.

Never be afraid to speak what's on your mind. Honesty is the best policy, and sometimes the truth might hurt, but that shouldn't stop you from saying it.

It's OK to show emotions.

Letting your guard down every once and a while won't hurt. Even if you are use to putting on a tough face for the world, it's OK to sometimes show more emotion than you're used to.

Always be confident.

Confidence is key. Being confident let's people know that you mean business and are sure about who you are. You have to be certain about yourself for others to take you seriously.

Blair Waldorf, we are thankful for all the lessons that you have taught us. All hail Queen B!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
