I have been obsessed with the Harry Potter franchise for as long as I can remember. Even if this is your first time reading any of these words or maybe it's your thousandth time if you're as obsessed as I am, there is a little something from this that we all can take away.

1. “Anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.” – Ginny Weasley

You can accomplish anything that you set your mind to. You have to believe in yourself. Once you do that than anything can happen.

2. “We feel our futures lie outside the world of academic achievement.” – Fred Weasley

Never be afraid to be unapologetically you. Embrace what makes you different. You might not be everyone’s cup of tea but that’s okay. It’s important to remain true to you. There’s no love more gratifying than the love that comes from accepting yourself.

5. “I mean, it’s sort of exciting, isn’t it? Breaking the rules.” – Hermione Granger

Life is all about taking risks. It’s important to remember to step outside of your comfort zone at times. It’s okay to break the rules sometimes. Take chances when you can and if you happen to make mistakes along the way, it’s okay. It won’t be the end of the world and after all, the goal is to live your life not just simply exist.

6. “It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.” – Albus Dumbledore

Life is not solely about where you come from. Life is all about evolving. Bear in mind that human beings are always changing mentally, spiritually, and emotionally but it is a process. If you are not happy with where you are now, be patient and kind to yourself because one day, you will become the best version of yourself that you could possibly be.

7. “We’ve all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.” – Sirius Black.

Human beings are complicated creatures. There is nothing simple about us and we are all complicated in one way or another. We all make mistakes and we all have downfalls. There is both good and bad in everyone but what matters most is the side that we feed into.

8. “Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.” – Albus Dumbledore

We all feelings. People tend to shy away from letting themselves feel vulnerable and ultimately letting themselves fear. Without allowing ourselves to feel, how can you know where you truly stand in life? And without knowing where you stand than how will you grow? Try not to bottle everything up inside or make your feelings. Allow yourself to feel and honor those emotions.

9. “Every human life is worth the same and worth saving.” – Kingsley Shacklebolt

We are all equal. Equality is not something that is up for debate. No one person is better than anyone else. It is important to remember to treat each other kindly and to be compassionate. We must respect one another’s feelings and ultimately treat others the way that you want to be treated.

10. "Happiness can found, even in the darkest of times. If one remembers to turn on the light.” – Albus Dumbledore

In life, things don’t always go our way and at times it may seem like the whole world is against us. It’s important to remember that you are in control of your own happiness. After all true happiness comes from within.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
